Yakama Nation Fisheries is a program of the Confederated Tribes and Bands of the Yakama Nation. The Yakama Nation has a traditional use area of over 11 million acres, where the Yakama People have hunted, fished, gathered, and practiced religious ceremonies since time immemorial. Each area has a name and a story of how it came to be. The Yakama Nation's Fisheries Resource Management Program (FRMP) is tasked with managing and carrying out the deliverables for the Tribal Response grant. FRMP's goal is "to preserve, protect, enhance, and restore culturally important fish populations and their habitat throughout the Zone of Influence of the Yakama Nation and to protect the Yakama Nation Fisheries seeks to ensure sustainable fisheries by integrating our management of harvest, hatchery production, and land and water impacts for the highest possible contribution to fish health.
