Mt Hallasan - Seongpanak Trail. frombigbentoonsens. November 22, 2020. South Korea. Hiking Mt Hallasan was truly an unforgettable experience during my visit to Jeju last autumn. Being the tallest mountain in South Korea, the journey begins in greenery and slowly unveils a rich autumn scene before you get to the peak with a wonderful view. Seongpanak Trail is about 9.7 km to and from the parking lot. Few kilometers from the summit was easy with boardwalk paths and steps. There was a three kilometer stretch of snow covered trails that made the descent quite stressful though. Once the snow covered area was cleared, it was a long but relatively flat walk rest of the way which my There are roughly 2 shelters on either trail where you can take a toilet break, one a 1/4 of the way and another 3/4 of the trail. There's far more shade on the Seongpanak trail compared to Gwaneumsa.
