Darrington Today Darrington today is a community of roughly 1,500 people. Its streets are paved and there is a modern school, parks, a library, a small airport, and a helicopter service. Its largest employers are the U.S. Forest Service; the Darrington School District, which oversees 570 children grades K-12; and a local wood-products mill.
