Hepworth Shipyard Ltd. In 1977 J.R. Rix & Sons Ltd bought the Paull-based shipbuilder J.R. Hepworth & Co (Hull) Ltd and a formed new company, Hepworth Shipyard Ltd, which built small craft such as trawlers and tugs at its location on the north bank of the Humber. The yard successfully continued shipbuilding until 2012 and was for many years the Hepworth worked like this most days, right up until the fire at her cottage in which she died in 1975, aged 72.
