The National Planning Commission (NPC) is the apex advisory body of the Government of Nepal for formulating a national vision, periodic plans and policies for development. It is headed by the Right Honorable Prime Minister. The NPC assesses resource needs, identifies sources of funding, and allocates budget for socio-economic development. The Department of Urban & Regional Planning is one of the key Departments in the FCDA charged with the physical planning, and monitoring of land use in the territory. The Department has undergone a lot of transformation over the years, reflecting the scope of services it provides. When created in 1979 it was known as the Department of Planning STRUCTURE OF THE COMMISSION. The National Boundary Commission is a multi-disciplinary Agency of the Federal Government that was created by Decree No.38 of 17th December 1987 and revised vide the NBC (Establishment Act 2006).
