Beau Vernon. On June 23rd 2012 my life changed forever. A normal incident in a normal game of Aussie rules football left me with C5-C6 quadriplegia. In an instant I went from a 23 year old who never sat still, to spending 8 months in hospital and looking at the prospect of spending my life in a wheelchair. Couldn't get enough of my footy The Vernon family now live outside Mooloolaba on Queensland's Sunshine Coast where Beau is training to be part of Australia's wheelchair rugby team for the 2024 2024 Paris Paralympics. His recent role in Australia's gold medal-winning World Cup effort in France has inspired his quest even more. Beau. Vernon. National handcycling champion and quadriplegic surfer.
