HEREFORDSHIRE Council has submitted plans to refurbish the library in Hereford. Leading councillors agreed last year to spend up to £230,000 on developing the mezzanine floor at the Hereford Opening date planned for city's relocated library. A cathedral city will have a new library but residents will have to wait until 2026. Hereford will get it in Shirehall by August that year, the Hereford's library is due to close and move to a temporary home to allow redevelopment to take place. It is housed inside the city's museum and art gallery on Broad Street, which will shut on 15 The Reading Room on the top floor of the New Library Building houses the modern lending and reference library and is also the place to study books and documents from our historical collections.
