Chorley was given a market charter in the 15th century and the two markets are still popular - the covered market which is open four days a week and the Tuesday market which sees 100-or-so stalls line the streets. The town was a thriving centre of the cotton industry in the 19th and early 20th centuries and in recent years millions of pounds Take a stroll through Astley Park, the perfect place to relax and enjoy nature in the heart of Chorley, England. This stunning park covers over 200 acres of countryside and is home to a variety of wild flowers and wildlife. It's the perfect place to go for a leisurely walk, have a picnic or simply take in the spectacular views. Image Description: Chorley Town Hall was built in 1452 and has been the centre of administration in Chorley ever since. This imposing building is not quite so visible by passing motorists since the main through road, the A6, was diverted in the 1980's.
