An iron gatepost at the entrance of Pirgo Place, a remnant of the 19th-century mansion, pictured in 2010 1889 map of the estate. Pyrgo Park is a park at Havering-atte-Bower in the London Borough of Havering, in North East London, England.It is the site of the former Pirgo Palace, built before 1540 and demolished by 1814; and of Pyrgo House, built 1852, which lasted less than a century. Sir John Grey of Pirgo, Essex & Bradgate, Leics. (b. c. 1571 - dvp. 1611), was the eldest son of: Sir Henry Grey, 1st Baron Grey of Groby (d. 1614), and Anne, dau. of William Windsor. He was knighted in 1596, and later served as MP for Grampound in 1601 & Aldeburgh in 1610. Marriage.
