Peavine Peak Trail. Experience this 14.3-km circular trail near Reno, Nevada. Generally considered a challenging route, it takes an average of 5 h 37 min to complete. This is a very popular area for birding and hiking, so you'll likely encounter other people while exploring. There are litteraly hundreds of miles of trails on Peavine and it is extremely popular with local mountain bikers. From this access point you can eventually reach the top of Peavine (7000' ft.) The trip contains probably 2000ft of climbing and over 20 miles (one way) but, thankfully, many smaller routes cover the lower portion of the mountain. The Chino Valley Peavine Trail offers a north-south route through the central Arizona town of Chino Valley, which lies about 15 miles north of the larger city of Prescott. The dirt pathway is best for hiking, mountain biking, or horseback riding and offers wide open views of the surrounding ranchland and distant mountains.
