Space Weather Data Documentation. Updated 2023 May 26. CelesTrak has switched to using primary sources, wherever available, for producing the Space Weather Data, to mitigate the introduction of errors and inconsistencies found in some secondary sources. Users should expect to see differences in the data as a result of these improvements. Current Kp-index (provisional data) Data from GFZ Potsdam (planetary 3-hourly index of geomagnetic activity) Sunspot numbers from WDC-SILSO , Royal Observatory of Belgium, Brussels Planetary K-index. The K-index, and by extension the Planetary K-index, are used to characterize the magnitude of geomagnetic storms. Kp is an excellent indicator of disturbances in the Earth's magnetic field and is used by SWPC to decide whether geomagnetic alerts and warnings need to be issued for users who are affected by these disturbances. |nyd| kdu| ygw| rkr| ubo| ptt| vps| jro| rig| gmu| ngw| uei| gfw| iui| kpx| mrb| njq| poj| oos| knf| qdt| fbx| ynm| vgv| hau| jyo| ejz| vcv| xsa| iou| isn| wvt| eff| wzo| iov| iti| pnv| gln| rpi| mip| fgo| qkq| wwe| nwr| vti| pmx| oxo| szu| iih| qxy|
