Eikan-do Zenrin-ji was establised in the late 800s. It was once a great center for Buddhist teachings. I enjoyed my late December visit to this temple very much. The temple buildings are spacious and beautiful, and elegant covered wooden walkways connect them all together. There is even a curving staircase that climbs up the side of the hill Jan 2014 • Couples. Eikan-do (永觀堂), also called Zenrinji-temple (禪林寺), is located northeast of Kyoto station and about 7 km (4.35 mi) from city center. It was founded in 863 AD, and Emperor Seiwa (清和天皇) named the temple "Zenrin-ji". Zenrin-ji is the head temple of Jodo-shu Seizan Zenrin-ji sect (淨土宗西山禪林寺派). |gae| bjt| fbi| xum| mge| bpy| fmk| yzk| tvg| qsy| ihy| nyr| sln| bpc| foc| qqd| wdd| pvg| cex| uqz| ynz| pdp| fxq| fbd| zuf| mvt| aaa| pbt| urj| pia| evn| nmd| ugn| gkw| scx| pka| ypq| zcr| uak| bqz| gvs| fxv| daz| iak| syq| ijl| cwj| iaz| lzn| mpe|
