Muslim Magomayev (Azerbaijani: Müslüm Məhəmməd oğlu Maqomayev; born 17 August 1942 in Baku) is an Azerbaijani baritone operatic and pop singer who was active during the 1960s and 1970s in the Soviet Union.Muslim Magomayev represents one of the most respected artistic dynasties in Azerbaijan.His grandfather Muslim Magomayev (1885-1937), a friend and contemporary of the prominent Magomaev's rise to fame. In the late 1960s, Magomayev turned his attention to more popular music. He began holding concerts on a daily basis in the USSR and started receiving offers of contracts from overseas.
