The BEST two days in Tucson, AZ (Trying Sonoran Hot Dogs, Mount Lemmon, Sabino Canyon, & MORE!)

Tumamoc Hill is a steady climb of 800 feet over 1.5 miles. Halfway up are research buildings (do not disturb) as well as a port-a-potty and nice views to the west. The hike is not technical, but the unrelenting climb may be challenging for some. The trail stops short of the summit and is posted no trespassing. I've been climbing beautiful Tumamoc Hill for about fifteen years on an almost daily basis. Now that covid 19 is among us the University of Arizona Desert Laboratory has decided the people climbing the Hill aren't bright enough to stay in groups under ten and to maintain six feet between one another along the mile and a half distance to the top. Tumamoc Hill is an active study site and ecological reserve of the University of Arizona. You are invited to walk the Hill every day from 4 am to 10 pm. You are required to stay on the paved road and within the overlook areas noted by perimeter cables. There are no exceptions to this.
