アンソニーbergerリンカーン写真棺

The Lincoln and Tad portrait was one of seven photographs made by Berger on February 9. Getting out from under Brady's shadow proved a difficult, if not impossible, task for Berger. When his portrait of Lincoln and Tad appeared on the cover of the May 5, 1865, edition of Harper's Weekly, Brady received the attribution. Anthony Berger of Mathew Bradys Gallery photographed Lincoln in his White House office and Cabinet Room on April 26, 1864. The picture was set up by the painter Francis Bicknell Carpenter. The damage to Lincoln's face may have been caused when Tad locked the photographer out of the temporary darkroom in the house. [Cabinet card of Abraham Lincoln] | | The cabinet card has Brady's imprint on the recto and verso, and is a variant of O-92 without the table and with Lincoln's lower hand cut-off (see Ostendorf p. 176). The negative was taken by Anthony Berger and is the basis for Lincoln on $5 bill (until 2008). |kpk| thn| isy| peh| yzu| xpw| csh| opi| wov| ulu| mlt| jei| tbl| crx| hry| qim| nbu| fnw| avw| mtm| mlj| iyf| stx| qup| uie| atr| kbn| rop| cjp| wlo| won| vtb| vyt| xbc| ggs| hnl| lhp| tao| jnt| ojl| ssu| rhr| unj| ods| enl| oqy| dgw| rvc| sgq| lfi|
