January 1972 Review: Marvin Minsky and Seymour Papert, Perceptrons, An Introduction to Computational Geometry Jan Mycielski Bull. Amer. Math. Soc. 78(1): 12-15 (January 1972). Papert and Minsky published Perceptrons: An Introduction to Computational Geometry in 1969. Papert foresaw children using computers as instruments for learning and enhancing creativity well before the advent of the personal computer. In the late 1960's, he created a computer programming language, called Logo, to teach children how to use performance of the perceptron in general. Accordingly, Minsky and Papert's analysis focuses on characterizing the computational abili-ties of perceptrons for specic tasks, such as parity or connectedness, whose geometrical interpretation helps in both establishing the proofs and appreciating their consequences.
