The IBM z15 was recently released with much fanfare, but what I looked forward to the most was getting a peek inside these machines.It may not matter what the heatsink or Crypto Express7S looks like, because most of us won't be interacting with the machine hardware -- but as a longtime hardware geek and a sucker for a raised-floor data center tour, I still like getting a look for myself. On the left is the IBM z13 (while the naming was changed, the z13 line had a zSystems label on doors). On the right is the IBM LinuxONE Rockhopper. IBM Z [1] is a family name used by IBM for all of its z/Architecture mainframe computers .
