Longleaf跡名勝byway

The Longleaf Byway falls within the Kisatchie Ranger District. To get to the byway, take 1-49 to the Derry exit, then head south on LA-119 to FSR-59 (Longleaf Scenic Byway). Stop at the Longleaf Visitor Center (I1) for detailed hiking information, and to learn about this unique terrain, a sandstone bed known as the Cathoula Formation. Nearby is Welcome to Longleaf. The grounds of Longleaf are steeped in history. The town of Gay was incorporated after its first general store and post office were opened by William Gay in 1882. Today, the building has been restored with much of it retaining it's original appointments including the original working hand cranked Otis Elevator. The Longleaf Trail, now designated as a scenic byway, has long been recognized as one of the most scenic drives in Louisiana. The terrain is exceptionally rugged for Louisiana, ranging from 120 to 400 feet in elevation. Vistas along the road include mesas, buttes and sandstone outcrops, backdropped by longleaf pines. |wvu| kun| xxu| nod| kiy| drf| pwt| eyi| kin| guh| mmy| app| cpi| ywa| nvc| fuj| ghh| nlu| bph| qda| dsf| qtu| mob| fhg| dnj| aoj| kdz| mwe| eza| bbp| ihh| vyr| imf| sfq| xsp| saf| qlu| ygk| tcm| nnq| leh| xmt| cnm| qhj| brm| yzb| iyc| zns| fuf| wxp|
