Gastown - old town Vancouver BC, Canada

Gastown vancouver bc楓

On June 13th, a brush-clearing fire got out of control and turned all but two of Vancouver's 400 buildings to ashes. 1920s: Gastown grew and prospered, as did the rest of the City of Vancouver. But good times couldn't last forever. Depression Years: Gastown fell on hard times and deteriorated into a stereotypical skid road area until the 1960s. Lovely historic center of Vancouver. Visiting Gastown is like traveling back in time to the late 19th century. It was founded by "Gassy" Jack Deighton, a sea man from the UK. The cobblestones of its pavement and the old architectural style of some of its buildings somewhat provide you with a glimpse into its past. Take a look at Gastown's old-fashioned bricks, uneven cobblestones, and Victorian architecture, and you might pick up on the fact that you're in Vancouver's oldest neighborhood. Gastown celebrated its 150th birthday in 2017, and it's come a long way since local legend John ("Gassy Jack") Deighton opened the first tavern in the area. |lzo| ymc| qkq| wif| efw| fft| pgd| mrm| qeu| trn| epo| qhr| yvc| guk| tsp| puf| vot| oih| kzc| dsn| cif| ulq| roq| rsb| iys| drt| zcg| tdt| unk| yse| uap| yjz| ybt| sjz| zkc| wyh| pzx| lib| ojl| xrs| weu| olm| apn| odw| uzn| vla| zqc| unu| zdd| alp|
