1) Go to Settings (in Chrome - the vertical 3-dot pattern at top right of URL/Ext bar); 2) System (left menu column); 3) Then, "Use hardware acceleration when available"; 4) Slide button to Disable; 5) Relaunch Chrome to activate the change. That fixed the Mac zooming in and out for me. Note on my Mac: I also have "Smart Zoom" option in the Getting Started with Magic Mouse Gestures.
