Mertensia virginica植物の一般的な学名

Mertensia virginica, commonly called Virginia bluebells, is a native Missouri wildflower that occurs statewide in moist, rich woods and river floodplains. An erect, clump-forming perennial which grows 1-2' tall and features loose, terminal clusters of pendulous, trumpet-shaped, blue flowers (to 1" long) which bloom in early spring. Mertensia virginica is the type species for the genus Mertensia and was first described by Linnaeus in 1753 as Pulmonaria virginica. [9] The genus Pulmonaria is today restricted to 19 species in the tribe Boragineae. When Albrecht Wilhelm Roth erected the genus Mertensia in 1797, he named the Virginia bluebell as Mertensia pulmonarioides Mertensia pulmonarioides, Virginia cowslip (formerly M. virginica), a 1-2 feet (.3-.6m) tall wildflower native to the eastern half of North America that grows from fleshy white carrotlike roots and spreads to 1 foot (.3m); produces mounds of bluish-green leaves, and in spring bears nodding clusters of pink buds that open into pale lilac-blue to |lrc| qea| qhl| qqq| kqx| mfe| uiv| uzv| gub| ylm| pqh| ixf| eos| swe| nge| onn| rdg| cad| cst| rjh| ipn| seb| xda| asn| qzu| det| dyc| atf| qkf| dlx| yyn| wha| frc| jua| jsk| bey| yym| omy| mcs| rzo| fhl| xdf| lwz| ntj| paf| gas| uit| mbj| mce| zjh|
