St. Andrews School in Knowle Hall. Alan Calaminus was the speaker at the History group's March 2016 meeting. He talked informally about his time as a pupil at St. Andrews School in Knowle Hall. The school was founded by his grandfather Paul and moved to the West country from London during the Second World War. The road closure is in The Knowle Inn. It was the only licensed house in the parish in the 16th century. It was held by one family between 1618 and 1657, and was said to be used by travellers on the highway. It was part of Bawdrip Manor until it was sold to the tenant in 1770.
