Pardi currently serves full-time in the New York Army National Guard. Pardi holds a bachelor's degree in criminal justice and sociology from the State University of New York, Albany and has taken courses at the Rockefeller School of Public Policy. He received his certification as a police officer from the Zone 5 Police Academy in Schenectady. An Army Staff Sergeant from the City of Newburgh, who was widely recognized for heroic actions while serving in combat, passed away in 2019 at the young age of 46. In 2020, the New York City Council renamed a portion of West 183rd Street in the University Heights section of the Bronx as "Staff Sergeant Santiago Frias Way."
