Alex Rubio is based in San Antonio. He started out painting murals in the city's housing projects. His first commissioned mural was at San Fernando Cathedral. He has a studio, Rubio Gallery-South, and he also works as artist-in-residence and mentor for Blue Star Contemporary's MOSAIC Student Artist Program, catering to high school students Alex Rubio.
