Obituary. David J. Bivens of Ringgold, Virginia, passed away on December 1, 2020, at the age of 81. He was born on November 2, 1939, to the late Wilma Byrd Bivens and the late Henry Bivens in North Carolina. He was predeceased by his first wife Hilda McGuire Bivens and his second wife Jeanette Williams Bivens. Bivens' wife Emily, 25, their 14-month-old son Cullen, Emily's mother, Joan Bernard, 64, and a pet dog were found slain in their Keeling, VA home while Bivens was out on a road trip with the City of Danville, Virginia P.O.
