Next source was a piped source on the right side of the trail (going NOBO) before the spur trail to Shining Rock and near the junction of the Art Loeb and Shining Creek Path. Again there's no water until that last 3.8 miles towards Camp Daniel Boone. There is a small sometimes reliable piped spring close to the summit of Cold Mountain.
