Sombrerete es un municipio situado en el estado de Zacatecas, México. Su historia se remonta a la época prehispánica, ya que fue habitado por grupos indígenas como los chichimecas y los guachichiles. Durante la colonia, la zona de Sombrerete fue descubierta por los españoles debido a sus ricas minas de plata.
