Basic Abilities Test (BAT) Individuals who desire to enter a basic recruit training program for law enforcement or corrections must first pass a basic abilities test. This test was adopted by the Criminal Justice Standards and Training Commission pursuant to Section 943.17, F.S., and further detailed in F.A.C. 11B-35.0011 (1). As of July 1 CJBAT Exam Outline. The CJBAT exam contains 97 questions and has a time limit of 1.5 hours. The questions on the exam are based on six minimum competencies that are required for a successful career as a law enforcement officer and correctional officer in the state of Florida. The competencies are as follows: Written Comprehension. Candidates will need to create a Pearson VUE account before being able to register for an exam. The unique client candidate ID will be a nine alpha-numeric field. The prefix will be BAT followed by 6 numeric digits. All payments for exam fees are handled through Pearson VUE.
