History. Ardscoil Rís was formally opened on the North Circular Road in Limerick on September 1st 1963, when it welcomed 52 students. Classes were held in an old coach house. The modern campus you see today was officially opened on March 3rd 2014. A new, modern theatre building was added in 2019. Admissions. Ardscoil Rís is part of the Limerick Area Post-Primary Schools Common Application System (CAS) for entry into first year. Since 1998 Ardscoil Ris has been fortunate to be included in the Dublin Diocesan Pilgrimage to Lourdes. Every year from September 7th to the 12th five students travel with the Pilgrimage along with approximately 180 other students from secondary schools across the diocese.
