Formby is part of the 20km Sefton Coast dune system which stretches from Liverpool to Southport and is the largest of its kind in England. It is one of the most important dune habitats in North Beautiful beach safe for kids and pets. Formby beach is a nature reserve thars part of tge national trust with a long beautiful sandy beach, sand dunes & woodland to explore. If you are a national trust member parking is free otherwise there is a charge. We love to pack up a picnic and head to the beach for a walk and fun with the kids. If you are travelling from Manchester, you will need to change a train in Liverpool to get to Formby Beach. 🚗💨 BY CAR. There are two car parks close to the beach. However, most of the visitors park on the nearby roads to avoid paying a fee for the car park.
