El Castillo, also known as the Temple of Kukulcan, is a Mesoamerican step pyramid that dominates the center of the Chichen Itza archaeological site in the Mexican state of Yucatan. The structure is more than 30 m (98 ft) high, and the temple platform on top is approximately 50 m (164 ft) square. El Castillo served as a temple to the god Westside of the Temple of Kukulcan.
