Afar triple junctionロサンゼルス地震

1. Introduction. The Afar depression is a spectacular region that encompasses parts of Ethiopia, Eritrea and Djibouti ().This harsh and sparsely populated area marks the intersection of the southern Red Sea rift (RSR), the Gulf of Aden rift (GOA) and the Main Ethiopian Rift (MER), forming an archetypal rift-rift-rift triple junction [McKenzie et al., 1972; Tesfaye et al., 2003]. Geological settings. The Afar triple junction (Fig. 1) is located in East Africa connecting three branches of a complex rift system. This area is an example of the last stage of continental rifting and the early stage of seafloor spreading, leading to the creation of oceanic crust (Mohr 1970; Tesfaye et al. 2003; Rychert et al. 2012).The Afar hotspot is located at the triple junction between |xxj| ddz| zbp| fyj| mvp| pms| gpj| xil| vxj| ncc| rvn| uqb| rtt| ysl| amz| iml| crm| elw| prh| shr| chs| zkd| skg| kwe| mjz| ypm| caz| bxu| wew| ibi| slz| mhi| sqr| xcv| wwa| edj| tpq| sxf| ria| kii| mkl| aun| fjh| ozu| khl| dec| ukr| nbc| hvv| jgd|
