A BRIEF HISTORY OF ST. JEAN DE BRÉBEUF CATHOLIC SECONDARY SCHOOL. St. Jean de Brébeuf opened its doors to 319 grade 9 and 10 students with 20 staff members in the Blessed Sacrament Catholic Elementary School in 1974. In 1975, the school moved into its own building. It was then that "ANIMA, MENS, CORPUS" - "Soul, Mind, Body" became Brébeuf qualified for the March 4-6 Ontario AAA high school championships with a hard-fought 64-59 victory in Milton over the Bishop Reding Royals. "They tell us that SJB hasn't gone to OFSAA since 1981," Braves' veteran guard Kevahn Taylor said. "So this was a big win for our team. I think we're ready. St. Jean de Brébeuf Catholic Secondary School is a Catholic secondary school for the city of Hamilton.It is a part of the Hamilton-Wentworth Catholic District School Board and is located on the East Mountain of the city, serving the south-east of Hamilton as well as parts of Binbrook, Caledonia and Glanbrook..
