About Sarva Siksha Mission (SSM) Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan (SSA) is Government's main program for achievement of Universalization of Elementary Education Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan (SSA). This flagship program of the Indian government was launched in 2001 to provide free and compulsory education to all children between the ages of 6 and 14. The program aims to increase enrollment, retention, and completion rates, with a focus on disadvantaged and marginalized children.
