The Courtauld Gallery (UK: / ˈ k ɔːr t oʊ l d /) is an art museum in Somerset House, on the Strand in central London. It houses the collection of the Samuel Courtauld Trust and operates as an integral part of the Courtauld Institute of Art.. The Courtauld collection was formed largely through donations and bequests, and includes paintings, drawings, sculptures and other works from medieval James "Jim" Bash Cuno (born April 6, 1951 in St. Louis) is an American art historian and curator. From 2011-22 Cuno served as President and Chief Executive Officer of the J. Paul Getty Trust . [2] The Art Institute of Chicago named James Cuno its director today, ending a four-month search for a successor to James N. Wood.
