1 .1.1 Historical Development Context. Mubende Municipality is located in Mubende District, Mid-Western Uganda in the Present Buganda Kingdom. The history of Mubende Municipality dates far back from the Bunyoro- Kitara Empire. This was the first capital of the Cwezi Kingdom around 1450-1500 A.D with its base on Nakayima Hill. Mubende is one of the oldest districts in Uganda having been established around 1905 by colonial rulers. The district has bred many other districts such as Kiboga and Mityana. It covers an area of The total Population of Mubende District as contained in the 2014 Population and Housing Census was 688,819 with 346,525 males and 342,294 females. When compared to the 2002 population census' results, the population in the district grew by 4.06% over a period of 12 years.
