Keflex is a cephalosporin antibiotic used to treat bacterial infections such as acne and prevention of bacterial endocarditis. Keflex, also known by its generic name cephalexin, is an antibiotic that belongs to the class of medications called cephalosporins. It is widely prescribed to treat a variety of bacterial infections in both humans and animals. Keflex is administered orally. Adults — The adult dosage ranges from 1 to 4 g daily in divided doses. The 750 mg strength should be administered such that the daily dose is within 1 to 4 grams per day. The usual adult dose is 250 mg every 6 hours.
