Barboursville is located in western West Virginia, within easy commute of eastern Kentucky and southern Ohio. Founded in 1813, Barboursville was Cabell County's original county seat. As such, it quickly became a busy town of both commerce and politics. A port of call for boats running on the Guyandotte River, Barboursville flourished as an Barboursville became the county seat of Cabell County in 1813.
