Temple University's new College of Education building at 13th st. and Montgomery ave., was formally dedicated in week-long ceremonies, Sunday, October 17 through Thursday, October 21, 1965. The Hon. William W. Scranton, Governor of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, spoke at the formal dedication ceremony on Wednesday, October 20, 1965. Weiss Hall Classrooms. Weiss Hall is located at 1701 N. 13th St. on the northeast corner of 13th Street and Cecil B. Moore Avenue. The B0xx rooms are located in the basement; all other classrooms are located in the tower and are accessible via the elevators. These 13 rooms have a total student seating capacity of 577. Rittenhouse Square, one of William Penn's original five, was known as the southwest square until 1825 when it was named for the astronomer-clockmaker, David Rittenhouse (1732-96), the great-grandson of William Rittenhouse, who built the first paper mill in America in Germantown..
