The Social Development Commission (SDC)'s Summer Food Service Program has sponsored many sites throughout Milwaukee County over the years. In 2020, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, we sponsored six strategic sites. We know many families are struggling to feed their families and we are working hard to provide healthy meals. History. In 1970, SDC's Youth Food Program began serving lunch and dinner to children in need. Our goal was simple - contribute to the growth and development of Milwaukee County's children by providing meals to satisfy basic nutritional needs. As the number of hungry children grew, so did we.
