I agree that fallout 3 have pretty bad gunplay, mostly because the shots didn't come from the barrel of the gun but from the center of the screen, that was fixed in new vegas. Other than that, fallout 4 didn't have much improvement in FPS view compared to new vegas, however the 3rd person view did got some substantial improvement. New Vegas is about as much of an RPG as Fallout and Fallout 2 are, and most of the mechanics are in place in one form or another. For starters there's the S.P.E.C.I.A.L. system which provides the Page 3. Fallout: New Vegas begins with a bang, leaving you shot in the head and left for dead in a shallow grave.
