Larbert is located in the county of Stirling and Falkirk, Scotland, two miles north-west of the town of Falkirk, 19 miles north-east of the major city of Glasgow, 25 miles west of Edinburgh, 315 miles north of Cardiff, and 346 miles north-west of London. Larbert lies four miles east of the Dunbartonshire Crownest is mentioned at least as far back as 1510 in the Register of the Great Seal of Scotland, as explained by John Reid in his 2009 book The Place Names of Falkirk and East Stirlingshire (4).
