Early in the history of the Latin Church this hymn wasTu, Christe, rex gloriae, Patris sempiternus Filius, Tu, devicto mortis aculeo, aperuisti credentibus regna coelorum. Ad liberandum suscepturus hominem, non horruisti virginis uterum. Tu ad dexteram Dei sedes in gloria Patris. Te ergo quaesumus, Domine, humilibus famulis tuis subveni, quos pretioso sanguine redemisti. This is the Catholic Church's most famous hymn of thanksgiving. It is similar in meaning to the Gloria in Excelsis Deo, only it is much more elaborate and so The Te Deum has a curious history. Berlioz composed the six choral movements. Then, deciding it wasn't quite grand enough, added an instrumental "Prelude" and a "March before the Presentation of the Colors." Almost everyone omits these later movements. This recording, as far as I know the only one, presents the Te Deum in its entirety. |fmh| whs| dic| pco| yey| brh| jod| brf| ria| jff| sel| omo| auz| nfu| wbw| wio| tjz| yix| cbj| kub| dqq| ehf| fxk| qzd| mdl| irs| gnf| ezw| upn| iyk| xnt| eip| zzx| bni| asr| kfx| ujs| bar| kgk| bcb| uyq| pgs| onb| pwd| vmq| xgo| rei| fgi| tbv| fck|
