When the Academy Award-winning filmmaker Morgan Neville ("20 Feet From Stardom") began work on a documentary about Fred Rogers, the host of "Mister Rogers' Neighborhood Fred Rogers died in 2003. Joanne, his wife of 50 years, passed away in 2021. He is survived by two children, three grandchildren, and generations of viewers for whom he envisioned a better world. In 1971, Fred founded his own production company, Family Communications, to produce Mister Rogers' Neighborhood and related materials for children Members of the Fred Rogers Center Advisory Council are distinguished national leaders in the fields of early learning and children's media.
