Housing Forward, formerly Metro Dallas Homeless Alliance (MDHA), was founded in 2002 to serve as a collective voice for homelessness in Dallas and Collin Counties, Housing Forward has the expertise, partnerships, and resources to lead a system-wide, data-driven strategy to solve homelessness in our community. As part of the Dallas R.E.A.L. Time Rapid Rehousing initiative, the city has decommissioned nine encampments and put more than 100 people on the road to permanent housing. The Stewpot's Housing Programs follow the Housing First approach and pair subsidized housing assistance with ongoing case management with access to supportive services. Our programs use a housing choice model which means each resident is actively involved in identifying the apartment and community in which they live.
