Published: May. 8, 2023 at 10:11 AM PDT. ATLANTA, Ga. (Atlanta News First) -A section of Kimball Bridge Road in Alpharetta is closing down for a year to get expanded and upgraded. The road is being raised and changed from a two-lane road to a four-lane road. A median, path, sidewalks, and better lighting are also being added to the area. Just after 8 p.m. on Friday, firefighters raced to Kimball Bridge Road, close to the intersection with Old Milton Parkway, following a 911 call from a passerby who spotted signs of a fire behind a business. Arriving on the scene, the crew discovered a small fire involving electrical lines and an outlet at the back of a standalone building. The Progress on the bridge remains on schedule, and the bridge is anticipated to open in the second quarter of 2024.
