Sadly, Bob Pollock passed away on September 1, 2004, just prior to the completion of his second production Return To Norumbega. As a teenager in the late 1950's, he worked along the Midway. He wrote an extensive 300+ page history as well as numerous newspaper and magazine articles about Norumbega Park and the Totem Pole Ballroom. The city of Norumbega and its country by the same name continued to appear on maps for centuries and even influenced modern history. By a process of false etymology, the name Norumbega came to be translated as Norse Land, and hence, as evidence of Viking settlement in the New World. And in a process of life imitating myth, there are now several Norumbega.
