Yellamma Temple, also known as Renuka Temple, Kannada in ರೇಣುಕ ಯಲ್ಲಮ್ಮ ದೇವಿ ದೇವಸ್ಥಾನ is a pilgrimage destination located about 5 kilometres (3.1 mi) away from the town of Saundatti in the Indian state of Karnataka. It is situated on a hilltop known earlier as Siddhachal Parvat and now known as The Goddess Yellamma is worshipped in a grand way by following all the attendant rituals, which is quite similar to the 'Shakti Puja'. The temple is located in the town Saundatti, which is of the oldest towns in the district of Belgaum. There are many temples in Saundatti, but Renuka Yellamma Temple is one of the famous ones. History Sri Yellamma Temple is a temple of Goddess Renuka (or Yellamma or Ellamma), revered as a fertility goddess and believed to be the incarnation of Goddess Kali. The temple is situated on a valley of hilltop, earlier popularly known as Siddhachal Parvat and now known as "Yellamma Gudda", named after the temple.
