John was the first Postlewait in America. He settled in Pennsylvania. The various spellings of Postlewait include, Postlewaite, and Postlethwaite. John was born in England in 1680. There was a possible first wife by the name of Joyce Myers who he supposedly married in Cumberland, England. This has not been proved.
