Inside Worlds. Joseba Elorza (MiraRuido) The pandemic affected everyone but not all people equally. Some people discovered new hobbies that saved their day to day existence, some parents found out they had kids, marriages broke up and others got stronger; The casuistry is infinite and the consequences incalculable. Joseba Elorza uses archival still images and video to create surreal collages, many of which have themes of science fiction and space travel. I think the way Elorza combines photos with drastically different formal qualities (some black and white, others in colour, from different eras) in the same picture — while making the picture work as a Joseba Elorza is a Spain based sound technician who currently works as an illustrator and artist. In his works he uses copy and paste as a technique to de/contextualize the general knowledge, re/configure our senses and re/mix the known past with the unknown future.
